Each year the AKA holds its national convention at a different location around the United States, usually rotating between the Eastern, Central and Western parts of the country.  The 2007 convention was held in Ocean Shores, Washington. and the 2008convention will be held in Gettysburg, PA.

Always attracting international guests, a convention consists of kiting related workshops each morning, kite making competions, sport kite competions, mass ascensions, indoor kite flying and many other activities in the afternoons and evenings.  There is also a fly market, two kite auctions and an awards banquet at the end of the week long event.  There is never a dull moment at an AKA convention, an attendee always learns a lot and has a lot of fun.  Normally several of our members attend this great event.
